Researchers at IFS carry out ongoing evaluation of the government's fiscal position. After each Autumn Statement, Budget and Spending Review, we publish analysis of the Chancellor's proposals and reforms as well as our examination of the public finances.
The Autumn Statement 2015 will be delivered by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, on Wednesday 25 November. IFS researchers will present their analysis at a briefing the following day, and presentation slides will be available online.
Chancellor George Osborne delivered the first Budget of this parliament on Wednesday 8 July 2015 – the first Budget from a Conservative government for almost 19 years. The Institute for Fiscal Studies presented its analysis of the Summer Budget on the following day.
Chancellor George Osborne delivered his last Budget of this parliament on Wednesday 18 March. The following day, on Thursday 19 March, the Institute for Fiscal Studies held a lunchtime briefing. The presentations from IFS researchers are available here.
The Autumn Statement 2014 will be made by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, on Wednesday 3 December. IFS researchers will present their analysis the following day.
IFS analysis looks at the issues likely to come up in the Budget as well as at the proposal for an Office of Budget Responsibility, which issued its first report on Monday 14 June.
