The IFS Green Budget 2019, in association with Citi and with funding from the Nuffield Foundation, will analyse the issues and challenges facing Chancellor Sajid Javid as he prepares for his first Budget – and which the competing political parties should address in any 2019 general election campaign. The findings from a selection of chapters will be presented at the event, where the full publication will be launched.

Little is more important to our society and economy than the effectiveness of our education system. This IFS at 50 event will look at how spending on and effectiveness of the different stages of education have changed over time, how well children from different social backgrounds do, and what the big challenges are for the future.

Past event
At this event, IFS researchers will be launching their second annual report on education spending in England, supported by the Nuffield Foundation. This will provide consistent measures of day-to-day spending per pupil in England across the four main stages of education stretching back to the early 1990s.
