IFS Associate Director David Phillips attends Scottish Parliament's External Experts Network

David Phillips, Associate Director at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, attended the first meeting of the Scottish Parliament's External Experts Network in Edinburgh on the 12th June. The aim of this Panel is to support the Scottish Parliament's committees with responsibility for scrutinising issues related to Brexit, the Fiscal Framework and Social Security benefits - issues which David has undertaken research on. In this first meeting, David joined other researchers from across Scotland and the UK, as well as Scottish parliamentarians and parliamentary staff, for an initial discussion of the key challenges in the coming years, and the areas of interest he could contribute to.

The External Experts Panel is a joint venture between the Scottish Parliament and the Centre on Constitutional Change at Edinburgh University.
